Emergency Contraception (EC)/Plan B/ "morning after pill"

Health Awareness Services uses “Plan B” for emergency contraception; this can reduce your chance of getting pregnant by 89%.

EC will not work if you are already pregnant. EC will not cause an abortion.

EC is not meant to be used as a routine form of birth control.

Health Awareness is listed as a provider on Association of Reproductive Health Professionals Emergency Contraceptive Hotline (1-888-NOT-2-Late / 1-800-668-2528) and Web site http://ec.princeton.edu/

If you are 18 years or older you can get emergency contraception without a prescription at the drug store.  You should call ahead to make sure they carry emergency contraception and bring a photo ID, listing your birth date, with you.

If you are under 18 years old you need to have a prescription from a medical provider to get emergency contraception at a drug store.

Health Awareness Services offers emergency contraception, as well as a full range of other family planning services, at all of our clinic locations.
