The primary goal of family planning is to decrease the rate of unintended (unplanned) pregnancy and improve the reproductive and sexual health of clients we serve. Medical services include, but are not limited to: screening for breast and cervical cancer (Pap smear), testing and treatment for urinary tract infections and other common gynecological problems, screening for anemia and high blood pressure, screening for testicular cancer, birth control including emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and counseling, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and HIV counseling and testing. These services are provided to females and males of reproductive health age (teens-approximately 50 years). We offer referrals for individuals over 50 years of age or for services we do not provide. Information and education is a large part of what we provide in family planning. Our goal is to provide you with the information you need to make informed decisions about your health and overall well-being. We provide services based on what your needs are; we are a safe place to receive care regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, legal residency status or ability to pay. GLBT Community Friendly Health Awareness Services receives funding from the state (Mass. Department of Public Health) http://www.mass.gov/dph/fch/famplan.htm and federal government (Title X) www.opa.osophs.dhhs.gov/ for family planning services. We have clinics in Worcester, Milford, Marlborough and Southbridge.
