Health Awareness Services provides HIV services to communities
affected and infected with HIV/AIDS since 1989. Our program prides
itself in providing quality care and education to improve the quality of
life of all clients affected by HIV. The program is partially funded by
Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Boston Public Health
Commission, Metro West Community Health Care Foundation and Donations
(Donation Form).
Our goals are to:
- Increase the number of person at risk who know their status
- Reduce number of new infections
- Improve the health and well being of people living with, and
at risk of, HIV
We offer:
- HIV Testing to clients at risk of HIV. HIV Testing is done via
blood testing and Oral Mucosal testing (not a saliva test). Test
results may be ready in 20 minutes (Rapid testing); this all depends
on what type of test you choose at the time of testing, when you see
the HIV Counselor at one of our clinics sites. We offer free
Anonymous and Confidential Testing at all of our sites.
- HIV case management is another service we offer to clients
living with HIV/AIDS. Case managers help clients in searching for
medical providers, transportation, housing, nutrition needs,
insurance coverage for medical care and treatment and other services.
- Partner Counseling and Referral Services is
provided to all clients who are living with HIV or may have had a
positive test result. HIV Counselors and Case Managers will help you
inform your partner (s) about your HIV status. This is provided in
many forms: anonymously or confidentially and with the help of our
staff or your primary care provider.
